Exam Pressure: MD aspirant commits suicide before appearing for NEET PG 2019
She had appeared for the NEET PG last year as well but hadn't scored satisfactory marks which had left her disturbed
Thane: Facing immense examination pressure to clear the entrance exam NEET PG for MD admissions, a 27-year-old woman MBBS doctor allegedly killed herself by jumping from her 12th-floor apartment in Thane, Maharashtra.
The medico committed suicide a day before appearing for National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Post Graduation courses, 2019 (NEET PG 2019) which was held on January 6.
Confirming the unfortunate incident to PTI, a police officer stated that they found an unverified suicide note, believed to be written by the deceased MBBS doctor, in which she mentioned "study pressure" as the reason behind taking the extreme step.

Between 6.45 am and 7 am, the MBBS doctor, after taking a bath, allegedly picked up a kitchen knife and slit her wrists and neck, and then jumped down from the balcony of her room, police said.
"In the suicide note, believed to have been written by the deceased, she mentioned that she was unable to cope with the pressure to prepare for the entrance examination NEET PG 2019 for MD (Doctor of Medicine)," Kapurbawdi Police Station's Inspector Arvind Karpe informed.
According to the deceased medico's mother, she was to appear for the NEET PG 2019 on 6th January and was disturbed and depressed for the last five days.
"The victim's mother had noticed that she was tense for the past few days as her exam was on January 6. She had appeared for the exam last year as well but hadn't scored satisfactory marks which had left her disturbed," Anil Deshmukh, Senior Police Inspector of Kapurbawdi Police Station informed Mirror.
The medico's mother is a well-known skin specialist in the city and her father is a senior engineer with the Raymond group.

MBBS graduates have to take the entrance examination, National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Post Graduation courses, NEET PG, which is the gateway to PG medical courses in the country such as Master of Surgery (MS), Doctor of Medicine (MD) as well as PG Diploma courses.
