PG medical Counselling in Puducherry: CENTAC releases Schedule, Eligibility criteria, Selection process

Puducherry: The The Centralised Admission Committee (CENTAC), Puducherry has released the Schedule, Eligibility criteria, Selection process for the NEET PG counselling 2020 for PG medical admissions in the state.

The concerned candidates who are vying to admissions to PG medical courses in the Puducherry based medical colleges are requested to view the details from the information bulletin mentioned below.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

The online registration process for admission of students to Post Graduate Degree courses for the year 2020-21 will be done by CENTAC.

CENTAC will conduct counseling for admission of candidates in Post Graduate Medical / Dental Courses for the seats available in Government Medical / Dental Colleges

CENTAC will conduct common counseling for admission of candidates in Post Graduate Medical / Dental Courses in respect of seats allocated for Government Quota in Private Medical / Dental Colleges.

CENTAC will conduct common counseling for admission of candidates in Post Graduate Medical / Dental Courses in respect of seats allocated for Management Quota (including minority quota, if any) in Private Medical / Dental Colleges.

Candidates who are completing or likely to complete their internship after 31st March, 2020,

need not apply, as they shall be ineligible to participate at any stage of the admission process.

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS TO CANDIDATES

1. Application must only be filled in online through the website www.centacpuducherry.in

2. Before filling the application, read the online prospectus carefully.

3. The last date for applying online is 06.03.2020

4. Candidates should ensure the following:

Upload scanned self-attested photo copies of the necessary certificates, in support of different claims. Original certificates must be produced only at the time of admission in the respective colleges.

All the certificates to be produced for various claims should be obtained and updated from the respective competent authorities and have the stipulated validity time.

Community certificates issued by Govt. of Puducherry will only be considered for claiming reservation benefits for Government Quota seats.

Sports certificates must be countersigned by the concerned authorities.

Options once exercised with regard to community / special category are final and cannot be changed once the merit list is published.

Candidates may login and fill in all their details along with course preferences. Only after payment of fees is made and verified, the students will be allowed to enter their preferences of courses. Without preferences, the application will be incomplete and will be summarily rejected. Candidates should bear in mind that the allotment of seats will be made based on preferences subject to the availability of seats and as per merit and reservation.

Once choices of courses are given, they are final. However, CENTAC reserves the right to permit all the students to alter the preferences for the subsequent rounds of admission. If such a decision is taken, the students will be intimated.

Candidates are advised to give as many choices of courses for which they are eligible in as many colleges as they wish. If choices are not made, it will be deemed that he/she is not interested in those particular courses or in other colleges.

After the Draft Merit List is published, the candidates will be given one or few days to raise objections, if any, and subsequently, the Final Merit List will be published.

Separate Merit List will be prepared for Government Quota Seats & Management Quota Seats.

For Government Quota Seats, Cut off is as per the reservation category i.e., SC, ST, OBC.

    The Mode of Reservation for Government Quota seats in all institutions will be as follows: Vertical Reservation First - General, SC, ST, OBC, EBC, MBC, BCM, BT

Horizontal Reservation Next- Freedom Fighter, Physically Challenged, Ex-Servicemen, Meritorious Sports Persons

The students should refer to the CENTAC website www.centacpuducherry.in for the merit list of all courses

Only computer-based counseling will be done. There will be no mock allotments. However CENTAC reserves the right to publish Draft Allotment and invite objections, if any and thereafter publish the Final Allotment for any of the rounds. Physical counseling might be done in the event of a mop up round.

Dates for the allotment details will be sent through SMS, E-mail, & and updated in the CENTAC website apart from publishing the same in the public media by way of press releases. After the online application date is announced the students should refer to the CENTAC website www.centacpuducherry.in, regularly, for updates.

Once the candidate has been allotted a particular seat, he/she can opt for one of the following preferences:

    1. The candidate can accept the allotment and refuse further rounds of counselling. In that case, this seat is not offered further to other candidates.
    2. The candidate can accept the allotment and request for consideration in the next round of counselling.
    3. The candidate can reject the allotment and request for consideration in the next round of counseling. In that case the seat will be released and put up for the next round of counseling.
    4. The candidate can reject the allotment and not participate in the next round of counseling.

Once the Provisional admission is given, the candidate must download the Provisional Allotment Order and report to the allotted college within the specified duration. If the candidate does not report within the given time, provisional allotment will be automatically cancelled. Similar procedure will be followed for the subsequent rounds of admission.

Number of seats in the colleges may vary depending on the approvals of the concerned regulatory bodies, and the Government of Puducherry.

Enabling Provision: If all the students of a specified category have been admitted, and even thereafter, if seats remain vacant for that specified category, the same may be unreserved.

The final authority to settle disputes, if any, in any matter will be the Chairman, CENTAC.

PROCEDURE FOR ALLOTMENT

1. SUBMISSION OF APPLICATION IS THROUGH THE ONLINE PROCESS ONLY.

2. Selection of Candidates for allotment to the various colleges will be based purely on merit, availability and reservation.

4. While filling up the application, all the candidates must provide their mobile number, email & scanned image of latest colour photograph which are mandatory.

5. Candidate should have scanned images of his/her latest Photograph (size of 20 kb to 50kb) in JPEG format only, for uploading as part of submission of online application.

6. Self-attested photo copies of the following certificates have to be uploaded along with the filled-in online application

a. NEET PG Score Card

b. Nativity / Residence Certificate

c. Certificate in support of the claim for reservation under different categories, viz., Community / Income / Persons with Disability / Freedom Fighter / Ex-serviceman/ Sports.

The originals of the above said certificates must be produced for verification at the college where the course has been allotted to the candidate.

All the certificates (to be submitted by the candidates along with the filled in online application) should be only in the format issued by the respective authorities. Overwriting on certificates will not be accepted.

All admissions made by the colleges following allotment by CENTAC are "provisional" and are subject to approval by Pondicherry University.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

For Government Seats and Govt. Quota Seats in Private Medical/Dental College

Candidate seeking admission to PG Medical/Dental Courses should have to be qualified in the NEET-PG 2020 conducted by National Board of Examinations (NBE).

Candidates should be citizen of India and those candidates who are claiming Government Quota seats should be resident of U.T. of Puducherry and they have to furnish residence certificate issued by the competent authority. If the residence certificate is not produced, then they will not be eligible for Government Quota.

Candidates who have passed their MBBS Examination and completed the Compulsory Rotatory Residential Internship (CRRI) period on or before 31-03-2020 are eligible to apply. However, the candidates should possess the Permanent Medical Council Registration Certificate of the States or of India at the time of counseling.

Candidates should possess MBBS Degree course of any University recognized by Medical Council of India.

For Seats under Management Quota Seats in Private Medical Colleges

Candidate seeking admission to PG Courses should have to be qualified in the NEET-PG 2020 conducted by National Board of Examinations (NBE).

Candidates who have passed their MBBS Examination and completed the CRRI period on or before 31-03-2020 are eligible to apply. However, the candidates should possess the Permanent Medical Council Registration Certificate of the States or of India at the time of counseling.

At any time, if the CENTAC / College Authorities find that admission has been offered based on false / incorrect information / documents and suppression of relevant fact, education qualification or quota, the admission offered will be summarily cancelled, irrespective of the stage of study of that course. Further, legal proceedings will also be initiated against such candidates for such actions. Hence, candidates are warned against indulging in such actions, in their own interest.

The original documents submitted by the candidates to be admitted in the respective colleges shall be returned only after obtaining recognition from the respective affiliating bodies, and hence, the candidates are advised to take enough numbers of photo copies of the documents before submitting the originals for verification.

Candidates should possess MBBS Degree course of any University recognized by Medical Council of India.

NOT ELIGIBLE

Candidates who join a Post Graduate Degree course in any branch and discontinue the course on any grounds after the cutoff date fixed by the Medical Council of India are not eligible to apply for two subsequent academic years.

Candidates who take an allotment for PG Degree course in any branch in the final phase counseling and not join the course on or before the cutoff date are not eligible to apply for two subsequent academic years.

Candidates who are undergoing a Post Graduate Degree course are not eligible to apply for any Post Graduate Degree.

Candidates who are completing a Diploma Course (including All India Quota) are not eligible in the same academic year to apply for any Post Graduate Degree Courses.

Candidates who have completed a Post Graduate Degree or candidates who possess a Post Graduate Degree are not eligible to apply for admission to any other Post Graduate Degree Courses.

Candidate who is a Diploma holder is eligible to apply for Post Graduate Degree Course.

PREPARATION OF MERIT LIST

For Seats in Seats in Govt. Medical/Dental College and Govt. Quota Seats in Private Medical/Dental College

Merit List will be drawn based on NEET-PG, 2020 rank, in which Reservation Policy of the U.T. of Puducherry will be applied.

For Seats under Management Quota Seats in Private Medical/Dental College Merit List will be drawn based on NEET-PG, 2020 rank.

COUNSELLING PROCEDURE

Admission to PG Degree Course shall be made by counseling on the basis of Merit applying the rule of reservation wherever applicable. Counselling will be done through computer module based on the preferences entered by the Candidates.

In case of physical counselling, candidates will be called for counseling according to their ranks in batches. Candidates can choose any one of the branches or colleges available at the time of counseling Option once given during the counseling cannot be changed later

Re-allotment from one college to another college is permitted during counseling only, based on merit and rule of reservation.

Individual request for transfer of college will not be permitted under any circumstances. Mutual transfers will not be permitted under any circumstances.

Candidates selected for admission should give a declaration in the form given at the time of counseling that he/she is liable for forfeiture of selection/admission, if suppression of facts are found at any time during or after the admission to the course.

The allotment / admission shall be liable for cancellation based on the declaration at any time during or after the admission to the course. Further, he/she will not be allowed to apply for Post Graduate Courses for two subsequent academic years.

Due to unforeseen reasons, if a candidate cannot attend the physical counseling (mop up) on the specified date and time, he/she can authorize a representative to attend the counseling on his/her behalf. The authorized representative should produce an undertaking and authority letter for allotment along with the requisite original documents. The allotment made to the authorized representative shall be binding on the candidate.

Strict discipline should be maintained by the candidate for smooth conduct of counseling. If the candidates are found to indulge in any untoward activities, they will be debarred from the counseling and selection for the present and subsequent academic sessions.

The candidates appearing for allotment by personal appearance should bring the original documents that are to be enclosed with Proforma/Application in original. In any case, candidates without original certificates/documents, shall not be allowed to participate in the counseling. Candidates who have deposited their original documents to Institutions/Universities should bring a certificate stating that "their original certificates are submitted to the Institution/University".

Unauthorised absence of candidates for one month and more after joining the course will be treated as 'discontinued' and the vacancy will be filled up by the CENTAC depending on the availability of time before the cutoff date.

The candidates who are selected at the time of counseling shall deposit the tuition fee in the CENTAC Account as fixed by the Fee Committee in respect of Government / Management / NRI Quota Seats.

After mop up round, the Tuition fee is not refundable even if the candidate does not join after allotment is done or discontinues the course. Therefore, the candidates are advised to do their due diligence before opting for a seat in the mop up round.

SEATS AND METHOD OF SELECTION AND ADMISSION

Category 1 - Seats in Government Medical / Dental Colleges

Allotment for the All India Quota (AIQ) seats is done by the Director General of Health Services, New Delhi. The remaining seats will be allotted under State Quota by CENTAC. Surrendered seats from All India Quota are also allotted as per reservation guidelines by CENTAC.

Category 2 – Government quota seats in Private Medical/Dental Colleges Government Quota seats are allotted as per reservation guidelines by CENTAC. Category 3 – Management quota seats in Private Medical/Dental Colleges

Management Quota seat are allotted based on All India Merit by CENTAC. The Minority Quota seats are allotted based on the Minority Candidates Merit List.

Some seats may be permitted but not recognized by Medical Council of India at the time of counseling. Therefore the candidates should well examine these points and refer MCI website before opting for a seat. The CENTAC shall neither be responsible nor shall entertain any case on above grounds.

TUITION FEE

Fees Payable in Government Institutions:

The selected candidates have to pay the tuition fees and other fees at the time of admission in the respective colleges.

Fees payable for the Government Seats in Private Medical/Dental Colleges

As prescribed by the "Fee Committee" in Private Medical/Dental Colleges for the year 2020-21. Fees payable for the Management seats in Private Medical/Dental Colleges

As prescribed by the "Fee Committee" in Private Medical/Dental Colleges for the year 2020-21.

Any candidate applying for admission to Post Graduate Degree Course 2020-21 session is deemed to have read the content in this prospectus and agrees with all the conditions and clauses and will not have the right to challenge any of the regulations.

CENTAC reserves the right to modify the Information Brochure at any time.
