Study Pressure takes toll: Final Year MBBS Student Commits Suicide in Maha
Pune: An aspiring doctor, an Under-Graduate MBBS student pursuing his final year from Bharati Vidyapeeth Medical College, has committed suicide at his residence in Pune, allegedly due to study pressures.
The deceased MBBS student committed suicide by hanging himself to the ceiling fan.
According to recent media reports, the unfortunate incident took place on November 22, around 5 am when the parents of the deceased student found him hanging in his room.
A night before the incident, at around 11 pm, the student’s family members went to asleep. Then at 3 o'clock in the morning, the father waked up the MBBS student to study. Two hours later, his father woke up to check up on him; however, the door of his room was locked, which surpised him. He knocked but no reply came back. Concerned and panicked, the parents broke open the door and to their immense grief, they found their son hanging to the ceiling fan.
Mourning their son’s death, the parents called the police. Upon being asked as to what may have made the MBBS student take this drastic step, the parents informed that he must have felt strained because of his studies.
As per the police, the MBBS student’s demise has been declared as a sudden death, reports Maharashtra local daily, Policenama.
Police is currently investigating the matter, adds Bhaskar Hindi.
