NEET SS 2019 Counselling: MCC FAQs for DNB SS courses

New Delhi: With the DNB SS courses being included in the NEET SS counselling from now on, Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has released the list of Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) for DNB SS counselling.

Candidates who are vying for admission to DNB SS courses and have queries about the counselling process; can update themselves with the FAQs mentioned below as published by the MCC so as to avoid any confusions.

Q. Is NBE conduct DNB (Super Specialty) July 2019 admission session counseling?



A. No, MCC will conduct a common Online counseling for DNB (Super Specialty) and NEET Super Specialty counseling for July 2019 admission session.


Q. What is the eligibility criterion for participation in DNB SS counseling?


A. Candidates who have qualified the NEET-SS 2019 conducted by NBE in June, 2019 and fulfill the eligibility criteria mentioned in the Information Bulletin for National Eligibility Cum-Entrance Test (Super Specialty Course) - 2019 for admission to DM/MCh./DNB SS courses.


Q. How can I get information regarding my queries pertaining to counseling?


A. Please refer to MCC website www.mcc.nic.in. You can also e-mail your queries to aiqpgmcc@nic.in .


Q. Am I eligible for DNB while pursuing any other DM/MCh/DNB course?


A. Candidate pursuing DM/MCh (other than DNB course) can join a DNB seat only after he/she resigns from such course. Candidates already pursuing a DNB course are not eligible to participate in Counseling till such time they have completed the duration of prescribed course.


Q. How can I know the counseling schedule?


A. The schedule of DNB SS 2019 counseling is available on MCC website www.mcc.nic.in.


Q. What if I am employed and wish to attend the counseling?


A. You can attend the counseling and opt for a seat also, however, if a candidate is employed or under any kind of bond, he/she has to furnish a 'No Objection Certificate and/or Relieving letter' issued by competent authority of concerned University /Employer at the time of joining the allotted institute.


Q. What are the documents required to produce at the time of joining in the allotted institute?

A. Candidates have to produce the following documents IN ORIGINAL at the time of joining in the allotted institute.

i. Admit card issued by NBE.
ii. Result / Rank Letter issued by NBE.
iii. MBBS Degree certificate.
iv. Permanent Registration certificate issued by MCI/State Medical Council.
v. DNB/MD/MS Degree certificate. #
vi. Proof of MD/MS Qualification being recognized as per IMC Act/Central Government.
vii. Proof of declaration of result of qualifying Post Graduate Medical Qualification (MD/MS/DNB) on or before 15th July 2019.
viii. Proof of training completion of qualifying Post Graduate Medical Qualification (MD/MS/DNB) on or before 15th July 2019.
ix. Matriculation/High School/Higher Secondary Certificate as a proof of Date of Birth.
x. Valid identity card in original viz. PAN card, Aadhaar Card (with photograph), Indian Passport, Voter ID card, Driving License, MCI/SMC Registration certificate bearing photograph of the candidate. No other ID proof will be accepted.

#Provisional Pass certificate of DNB/MD/MS Qualification is permissible only for those candidates who had passed the DNB/MD/MS Qualification in or after 2018. If the candidate has passed DNB/MD/MS Qualification before 2018 and the DNB/MD/MS degree certificate has not been issued to him/her so far by the concerned university/Board, documentary evidence to this effect in the form of a letter from competent authority of respective university/Board is to be furnished at the time of joining the allotted institute. If a candidate is employed or under any kind of bond, he/she has to furnish a 'No Objection Certificate or/and Relieving Letter' issued by competent authority of concerned University /Employer at the time of joining the allotted institute.

Q. What is meant by joining?

A. Joining means deposition of the prescribed documents at the accredited hospital/institute and resuming his/her duties as a DNB trainee. Each candidate shall be given a prescribed time from the date of allotment of DNB SS seats to join their allotted institute/hospital. Joining in DNB SS course is subject to medical fitness of the candidate as assessed/examined by the accredited hospital/Institution. The medical examination of the candidate shall be done by the Medical Board of the concerned NBE accredited institute/hospital. Candidate found fit in the medical examination shall only be allowed to join DNB SS course. NBE reserves its rights to take a final decision in the matter of the candidate being found unfit in medical examination.

Q. If I am found ineligible during the counseling, what action will be taken against me?

A. If ineligibility is detected at any stage, NBE reserves its rights to take necessary actions as deemed fit including but not limited to cancellation of admission to DNB course and to debar the candidate from taking any further examinations conducted by NBE.

Q. Is registration for the DNB SS Course mandatory?

A. Yes, all candidates who have joined DNB SS training are required to get registered with NBE for DNB SS course through NBE website www.natboard.edu.in . A registration number is issued on receipt of application for registration and fulfillment of eligibility criteria for registration. Candidates can download their registration letter from NBE website, once registration process is completed.

Q. Can I change my institute after completion of counseling process?

A. No, change of Institute is not permitted after the completion of counseling process. The allotment made shall be firm and final. Change of Institute/college from one place to another is not permitted under any circumstances. Requests for the same shall not be entertained by the NBE after the online counseling process is completed. In the event of closure of training institute or withdrawal of accreditation by NBE, the ongoing DNB trainees of that institute shall be relocated to the vacant seats available in other NBE accredited institutes, to complete their remaining period of DNB training.

Q. What will happen to DNB SS seats which remains vacant after completion of counseling conducted by MCC?

A. DNB SS seats remained vacant after the completion of counseling conducted by MCC will be transferred to NBE for Stray Round of Counseling. The schedule for Stray Round of Counseling will be notified by NBE on the website www.natboard.edu.in.

Q. What is the procedures for Stray Round Counseling for DNB SS 2019 seats?


A. The Stray Round of counseling shall be held in New Delhi, at National Board of Examinations, PSP Area, Sector – 9, Dwarka (Landmark: Opp. District Court, New Delhi) as per the schedule announced by NBE after the completion of online counseling. The allotment of seats shall be made to the eligible candidates only through persona appearance and they shall be called in batches in order of their merit position, as per the schedule of Stray Round of Counseling.
