Fire at SCB Medical College: Important documents reduced to ashes
An investigation has been launched to ascertain the cause of the mishap at the medical college and hospital. Fortunately, there was no casualty after the major disaster. Many important documents were reduced to ashes in the flame
Bhubaneswar: A fire broke out in the record room of popular SCB Medical College causing panic within the hospital staff and admitted patients. No casualties were reported but a large number of important documents related to hospital administration were ruined.
The incident reportedly took place on April 8, Monday. The fire erupted at the records section of the medical college and hospital. The fire was noticed when the hospital authorities opened the record room in the morning next day. Immediately, they informed the fire personnel rushed to the medical institute premises and doused the flames.
According to local media reports, many important documents were reduced to ashes in the flame.

As per the preliminary investigation, the fire is suspected to have taken place due to a short circuit in the record room.
"Though the exact reason behind the incident is yet to be ascertained, it is suspected that a short circuit might have triggered the fire," certain sources informed Pragativadi.
Meanwhile, an investigation has been launched to ascertain the cause of the mishap, reports Orissa Post.
Fortunately, there was no casualty after the major disaster at the medical institute.
Medical dialogues had earlier reported about another fire which had broken out in the state's n the Hi-Tech Medical College and Hospital. Sparks erupted in the Physiotherapy Department of the medical institute located on the third floor of its building. The blaze came to light after some of the hospital staff witnessed smokes waving out of a room and raised an alarm.
