ACB raids Andhra Medical College Professor

Visakhapatnam: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) conducted raids on Public Health Department Chief Engineer, Paamu Rangarao and Andhra Medical College Professor, Vijay Kumar.

Raids are also underway at other locations including Visakhapatnam, Guntur, Hyderabad, West Godavari and seven other places in Andhra Pradesh.

Earlier on June 19, the ACB conducted raids at various places belonging to Gajuwaka sub-registrar D. Venkayya.

Hindu Reports that the assets unearthed worth (as per document value) Rs 3.58 crore, but sources in the ACB said that the market value would be close to Rs 30 crore. The assets include a house site (400 square yards) in Visakhapatnam, a site at Kakinada, building (G+2) on 400 square yards and a doctor’s chamber.

Moveable assets seized include three cars, a scooter, 2.4 kg gold, 3.58 kg silver, household articles worth ₹8.5 lakhs and bank balances of ₹1.9 lakh.

Venkayya was already arrested by the ACB in 2011.
