Uttar Pradesh: Observational fellowship given to two KGMU students

Lucknow: King George's Medical University (KGMU) will be sending two students to the Sydney Medical School on Observational Fellowship for a one month's tenure for the first time.


Both the students will be going under the MOU signed between the KGMU and its international counterpart.The medical school under the University of Australia was established in 1856.


Dhruv Kapoor, an MBBS final year student and a resident of Allahabad , and Vallina Narang, a third year MBBS, are the two selected participants for the month long fellowships, under the Clinical Elective Program.


"The MOU between the two institutes had been done three years back and until now students from Sydney Medical School had come to KGMU. This year is the first time that our students will be going there to observe and learn their medical techniques and help us apply us here," said Prof Manish Bajpai, Faculty Incharge, Foreign University MOUs, KGMU.


The Sydney Medical School will bear the costs of travel and insurance of the two KGMU students. Vallani will be travelling to Sydney between September 4 to October 2, 2017, while Dhruv will be there for the fellowship before her, between August 7 and September 3.


The two had applied for the fellowship along with some other KGMU entrants and were selected based on their academic performance and capability, reports TOI.
