Uttar Pradesh: 200 selected for PG medical seats in the Ist round of counselling

Lucknow:200 Post Graduate medical admissions having been completed after the first round of counselling, 6,200 candidates will now be participating in the personal counselling round for admissions to medical colleges with another 900 for PG dentistry course.


May 22-27 will see the Directorate of Medical Education and Research conduct a personal counselling round. A Health Ministry circular released recently announced May 11-20 as dates for counselling for the second all-India combined counselling round for admission to postgraduate courses. The last date of joining is May 27 and the date of admission May 31.


The circular also mentioned a mop up round of counselling after the second round to ensure that all seats were filled by May 31.


In Maharashtra, 2,400 of the 2,800 seats were filled in the first admission round. 80 students have been declared ineligible for not having taken up seats, despite having secured admissions in them. DMER Director, Pravin Shingare clarified that only those who are eligible should show up for personal counselling.


"They must carry their original documents and cheque book," he added to the TOI. The personal counselling round will take place in the physiology department on JJ Hospital campus,"he stated.
