Upload List of Students online: MCI tells medical colleges

Punjab: The Medical Council of India(MCI), in a recent directive to medical colleges has asked them to post the complete list of students admitted, on their respective websites. The list is to remain posted on the website till the student passes his/her final year and is registered with the State Medical Council. Besides this the website is also to carry updated information pertaining to permission/recognition for courses on a regular basis.


Dr Rajendra Wabale, Joint Secretary, MCI, in a letter sent to all medical colleges and Baba Farid University of Health Sciences (BFUHS) said the issue to maintain transparency in the admission process was taken when the vacant seats issue, in various medical colleges, was put forward to the monitoring sub-committee and executive committee of the MCI, last month.


The MCI has also clarified that any changes in the student list, based on the regulatory bodies decision, are to be updated and incorporated, whenever, a direction with regards to this is received, and the updated list is to be made available on the website, accordingly.


"Information in the form of documentary evidence regarding permission/ recognition to a medical college by the Centre should be uploaded on the website of the medical college. On this linked page with information, individual letters of permission/recognition in a PDF format need to be hyper-linked to year-wise labels. The compliance with respect to above should be available on college website within two weeks from the date of dispatch of this letter failing which action will be taken," reads the letter, reports Tribune.
