Upcoming Siddhartha Medical College raided by Lokayukta officials

TUMAKURU : KPCC, President, Dr G Parameshwara's Siddhartha Medical College coming up at Kuluvanahalli village in Nelamangala taluk, Bengaluru Rural district was raided by Lokayukta sleuths following a norm violation complaint.


The raid was part of the crackdown on unauthorised godowns and buildings that have been on for the past 1 week. Officials during the raid, verified documents of the construction.


According to Assistant Executive Engineer, H S Srinivasamurthy, the raid was conducted following a gram panchayat complaint.


There were complaints regarding illegal construction of godowns and private parties creating residential layouts, in an attempt to evade tax.


"We conducted a spot visit and also verified documents. A report will be prepared following which action will be taken", the Assistant Executive Engineer added.


Gram Panchayat, Member, Jagadish alleged that though the college fell under the Kuluvanagalli Gram panchayat, it had procured a building licence from Beguru, gram panchayat


The College authorities showed only eight acres of land on record, though its campus is spread over a sprawling 32 acres, alleged Jagdish. They ignored a notice to pay Rs 45 lakh, he told TNIE.


Another Gram Panchayat, Member, Kempanna alleged that "influential" people were involved in misguiding officials of the state's Revenue Department.
