Unfortunate: Medical College Assistant Professor takes his life

Guntur: In an unfortunate incident at Katuri Medical College, Prathipadu, an Assistant Professor Dr Nalabothu Sandeep Krishna(33) took his life by hanging from a ceiling fan in his room ,on the college campus, on Friday.


Krishna, a resident of Vijaywada, and a pulmonology specialist had joined the college faculty along with his wife Bhavna, a general surgeon, on June 22, 2017. He was married to Bhavna 8 months ago.


Last Friday afternoon, Bhavna on her return to the room from the scanning center, after getting her grandfather diagnosed for an ailment, found the room door locked. When her incessant knocking and calling out to her husband elicited no response, she got suspicious and had the room door broken with her neighbours assistance. On entering the room she found Krishna hanging from the ceiling fan. She immediately informed the police. The cause for suicide is yet to be known. However, the investigating police linked the cause to depression.


A suicide note was also recovered from the spot. The parents of the assistant professor who live in Gujarat, were informed of their son’s suicide by the police. They could not get any additional information from the police. A case was registered by Prathipadu, Sub-Inspector, S Srinivas reports TNIE.
