Unfortunate: 2nd Year PG Anesthesia Commits Suicide at Tanda Medical College

Kangra: A 2nd-year Postgraduate student at the Anaesthesia department of Dr. Rajinder Prasad Govt. Medical College Tanda was today found dead in his hostel room in the college premise today, police said here.


Senior Superintendent of Police Kangra Santosh Patial told UNI this evening that identified as Dheeraj Soni a postgraduate student of the anesthesia department and resident of Hamirpur was today found dead in his room located in the Satluj hostel building. SSP said that as Dheeraj was not in the class today and his hostel room was bolted from inside.


Dr. Bhanu Awasthi Principal told UNI that he was informed by one of the consultants of the Anesthesia department about the incident. Dr. Bhanu said that the door of the room was broke open by the college studentsand found Dheeraj dead in his room.


SSP said that some syringes, atracurium medicine used for anesthesia, painkiller and liquor bottle were recovered from the scene of the occurrence. SSP said that police team was rushed to the spot and forensic team was also arrived at the spot. The body was sent for the postmortem and the police was investigating the case.


SSP said that the actual cause of death will be established only after the postmortem report will be received. He said that postmortem will be conducted tomorrow.
