Unfortunate: 24 years old MBBS intern dies in car accident

Bhopal: In an unfortunate incident, an 24 year MBBS intern passed away after a car she was travelling in rammed into a hospital board at a turning point.


The deceased has been identified as a final year pass out MBBS intern at People's Medical College. She was travelling with her friend, who has sustained grave injuries and is currently undergoing treatment.


According to local reports, the horrific incident took place on 23rd January when the MBBS medico was returning from her duty.

An eyewitness to the incident informed that at around 9:30 that night, he saw a car driven at high speed coming from 11 Meel Bhori side fell into a ditch and took 4-5 turns before hitting the nearby Ayurvedic hospital. After the intense collision, the woman sitting inside the car came out from the car and died on the spot from injuries. The other person, who was driving the car, fell unconscious.


The eyewitness immediately called up the police and the injured was taken out from the driver's.


Both of them were rushed to the hospital where the MBBS intern was declared brought dead whereas injured is undergoing treatment, reports Jagran.


Subsequent to the incident, the police registered a case under IPC 279 (Rash driving or riding on a public way) and IPC 304 A (Causing death by negligence), adds Hitavada.

Medical Dialogues had recently reported about a similar incident where a female final year MBBS student at Hyderabad-based Kamineni Medical College lost her life in a road accident.


An unidentified vehicle had rammed their two-wheeler when she and her two juniors were coming back to the medical college hospital after having breakfast from a nearby hotel.
