Unable to start their 2nd year MBBS due to delay in results, medical college students protest outside university gates
Sambalpur: The very first batch of MBBS medicos the Bhima Bhoi Medical College and Hospital (BBMCH) of Bolangir, which started its operations in 2018 are unable to move on to their 2nd year of studies, as the Sambalpur University, to which the medical college is affiliated to has still not released their results.
Disturbed with the delay in the publication of examination results, first-batch MBBS students of the medical college was seen demonstrating outside the gates of the Sambalpur University earlier this week. The BBMCH which started functioning in September 2018 with a batch of 100 MBBS students and is affiliated to the Sambalpur University.
The agitating students also called on the Controller of Examination of the university to air their grievances on the issue. Controller of Examination SN Nayak said publication of the results was delayed because of some official problems.

"We are now working on it and efforts are on to publish the result by Saturday," he said. The first year MBBS professional examination concluded on September 13 last but the results are yet to be published, while that of the medical colleges under other universities have already been announced, the demonstrators said.
Without the publication of the results, the students cannot start their second-year classes, which may indeed have a spiral effect on their further studies.
"Since the results are not yet out, we cannot start our second-year professional classes. Moreover, the delay in the publication of results will affect the completion of course and students will be unable to appear the PG entrance examination on time leading to loss of a year," a protesting medico of the college told the New Indian Express
