TN: Government Tiruvannamalai Medical College Hospital to get 12 dialysis unit installations

TIRUVANNAMALAI: The Government Tiruvannamalai Medical College Hospital (GTMCH) will soon receive Twelve dialysis unit installations. The District Collector Prashant M. Wander has informed that the unit may come up in the old Government Hospital Building at Chengam Road. The installation decision has been taken as there has been no dialysis facility available to patients at the hospital till now.


The District Headquarters Hospital in the area also has no dialysis facility installed on its premises. The Rangammal Memorial Hospital located at Chengam Road is the only health facility that provides a dialysis facility and that too at a fee.


According to GTMC, Dean, R. Jayanthi, each unit would cost approximately Rs. Six lac or Rs.seven lac and the installation premises would have reverse plant built to supply treated water required for the dialysis units. It would take a couple of months for the entire unit to come up, added the Dean, GTMCH.
