TN : Former police officers arrested for cheating Rs 2 crore on promise of medical seats

Chennai: A case of siphoning of money from parents of medical aspirants, by promising medical admissions to their wards has come to light . The central crime branch of the Chennai city police, on Wednesday, handcuffed two former assistant commissioners of police (ACPs) for it.

The two criminals involved in this alleged crime are former ACPs’ Lakshmanan and Parthasarathy. The two are alleged have collected more than Rs. 2 crores from parents of medical aspirants, on the promise of granting medical seats to them, in a medical college in Tambaram, claimed the investigating police . The name of the college has not been revealed. The students did not get the promised admissions.

The CCB sleuths were led to the two retired police officer houses on the basis of the complaints filed by the parents of the two aspirants. Further Investigations are on.
