Aspirants who are preparing of Post graduations in Biochemistry, are need to know the importance of Biochemistry. It is an equivalent important subject like other subjects. It is the science concerned with the chemical and Physico-chemical processes and substances which occur within living organisms.

Bio-chemistry is a high scoring section. It is the most scoring subject among all 3 first prof subjects. Bio-chemistry does not change with time, Here are some important tips while preparing for PG Biochemistry.

Importance of Revision

Revise. Revise. Revise. Revise. Revise. Revise. Revise. Revise. Revise.- No amount of emphasis is big enough to reiterate that revision is the most.

Important factor before going for the exam, more so for biochemistry.

Importance of MNEMONICS!!!

Key to memorizing lists and cycles is making good mnemonics. A word of caution here: mnemonics should be made by you, or it should have some anecdotal zing with you. Otherwise you might end up stranded in the exam, unable to expand the mnemonic.

Special topics

High yield content of biochemistry are the special topics. Easier to understand, easier to remember, and better chances of being asked in the exam than metabolism.

Molecular Biology and Associated Techniques are the new hot cakes of biochemistry in exam paper.

Inborn Errors of Metabolism:Must Know Topics. Do not forget to revise these small, very high yield topics before exam; sure to be asked in almost every paper.

Storage Disorders:MUST KNOW TOPICS. Associated enzymes are somewhat passe topics. Clinical presentations and histopathological appearance also need to be looked at.

Vitamins: Very High Yield Topic. Good command at vitamins easily translates in 2-3 questions in every exam.

BASICS: Physiology of carbohydrates, lipids and amino acids/proteins. Very High Yield Topics. Good command over these simple topics is a must to handle biochemistry questions with ease.
