Nainital: In yet another case of ragging, the University Grants Commission (UGC) has received a complaint from a first-year MBBS student at Dr Susheela Tiwari Government Medical College and Hospital in Haldwani claiming that he was allegedly ragged by his seniors, who also thrashed him up and tore his clothes. Meanwhile, taking action on the complaint registered over a week ago by the victimized MBBS student, the college administration has constituted a 12-member committee to investigate the matter and has already questioned 100 MBBS students so far.

When contacted, S K Singh, Principal In-charge of the Medical College and Hospital, confirmed to the daily, "We have ordered a probe and more than 100 people, including students, have been questioned. A meeting has been called regarding the matter on Tuesday."

An official further informed that the UGC asked the institute to look into the matter in an email after which the probe was ordered.
