Hyderabad: Despite the Kaloji Narayan Rao University of Health Sciences (KNRUHS) having completed the process of allotting seats to private medical colleges, the managements of 15 private medical colleges have yet to start the process of collecting fee and certificates from the students. The main reason for the delay being their unwillingness to admit students based on the old fee structure. They have made it clear that offering PG admissions at the old rate is not a viable solution. This has made the process a bit complicated.

For its part Kaloji Narayan Rao University of Health Sciences(KNRUHS) has asked the students to join their respective government and private medical colleges by Wednesday evening.

"There is still time left till tomorrow evening for the whole process to start. If private medical colleges do not take admissions, then we have to write to the State government asking it to intervene and hammer out a via media solution," Vice-Chancellor ofKaloji Narayan Rao University of Health Sciences, Dr Karunakar Reddy told Telangana Today.

The reluctance on the part of private managements to accept fee and grant admissions has the future of 370 students at stake. The representatives from the Telangana State Junior Doctors Association (TS JUDA) on Tuesday, said if the admissions of these students does not take place, then the state government should take immediate action.

"The government should implement the High Court order, which has stayed the fee hike and asked to continue with the counselling based on the old fee structure. At present, private medical colleges are not collecting fee and certificates for admissions from MBBS students," said Counsel, Telangana State Junior Doctors Association (TS JUDA), Sandeep Reddy to Telangana Today .

The managements' however, await the Supreme Court hearing on the matter on Wednesday.
