Telangana: After a reported strike by the Joint Action Committee ( JAC) of private educational institutions in the state, the matter at hand, which concerns conducting EAMCET examination at private institutes, seems to be resolved.

The JAC was reported to be upset over the vigilance inspection to be done by the state police at all the private institutions. This is to be done at the behest of the state government to inspect over irregularities in scholarships and mess bills by the college managements.

Only after a meeting between the JAC representatives and deputy chief minster and education minister Kadiyam Srihari at his residence, there seems to be an agreement, which in turn, led the JAC to call off the strike.

A local daily reported that "We have withdrawn the strike after the government has released over Rs 3,100 crore towards fee reimbursement and also assured to look into the matter of harassment by police on the name of vigilance inspection," N Gautam Rao, Chairman of the Telanagna Engineering and Professional colleges' Management Association said.

Following this, the college managements threatened the government to boycott all the exams including Polycet, Eamcet and TET.
