Technical glitches that led to withdrawal of PG allotment list on Wed, reflect a fresh list on Thursday

New Delhi: After a technical mishap led to the MCC authority taking back its announcement on the postgraduate medical courses in the all India quota on Wednesday, and students and parents in a state of confusion and disappointment, Thursday saw a new merit list on display. Students received fresh mobile messages announcing new allotments.


A student, who was allotted a seat in all India quota, said that on Wednesday afternoon he got a message that he was allotted a seat in the surgery department of the MP Shah Government Medical College. His joy he said was short-lived as at 7 pm, he got another message speaking of a technical glitch leading to cancellation of the earlier announcements on seat allocation.


The Medical Counselling Committee immediately removed the merit list.


Thursday saw a new development in the form of a new merit list being displayed and fresh phone messages doing the round amidst students reported TOI.


All India first ranker Ruchir Agarwal, a Rajkot medical student had been given admission in the BJ Medical College for General Medicine.


Shikha Shah, ranked 8th in the country and 2nd in Gujarat, has also taken admission in the BJ Medical College in MD, Dermatology


Amay Banker, 30th all India ranker has secured admission in Master of Surgery in Seth Gordhandas Sunderdas Medical College, Mumbai.


In an earlier story done by Medical Dialogues on the technical glitches faced by student aspirants, it was stated that the counselling for NEET PG 2018 almost turned into a mockery on Wednesday, when the MCC first uploaded the list of candidates who had been allotted a seat in the first counselling for NEET PG qualified students, only to soon retract it later. The reasoning highlighted by the authority was a technical glitch, but it soon led to angry students venting their anger on social media calling the carelessness shown by the authorities regarding their career.


The counselling list was published on the official website on March 28, 2018, afternoon. MCC in a notice published on the official website, that the list published yesterday stands ‘null and void’. MCC will announce the fresh allotment list soon on the official website. The committee has also extended the last date of reporting to April 5, 2018.
