Chennai: The Chennai Police has arrested a former army man on the charges of harassing a female MBBS student attached to ESI Medical College and Hospital in KK Nagar, where he earlier used to work.

According to recent media accounts, the accused, identified as 45-year-old ex-army man, Ganesan, had been harassing the fourth-year MBBS student for months. The accused is reportedly married and has two sons.

As per the statement made by the police officials on the case, the accused had been working as a security guard in the hospital for the past five years. He had been keeping a close watch on the girl from the day she started her MBBS training at the hospital.

During interrogation and further investigation on the case, police officials recovered the letter. They also found that the accused was ready to leave his wife and children. He had plans to rent a house soon after getting married to the MBBS student, adds TOI.
