Tamil Nadu: Madurai Medical college student found dead

Chennai: A 20 year old, Madurai Medical College student has been found dead in mysterious circumstance in the hostel premises,. The body has been sent for postmortem to Government Rajaji Hospital.


The MBBS student has been identified as Mohammad Shaw, son of Mazeed of Kollam in Kerala


The police are trying to find the cause of this mysterious death, as no one knows whether the student took his life by jumping off the terrace of the two storey hostel building or fell of the terrace accidentally. Injuries on both the head and limbs have been found.


Dean, Madurai Medical College and Government Rajaji Hospital, M R Vairamuthu Raju, told TOI that the family had been informed and the parents were on their way to Madurai.


Preliminary inquiries by the police have revealed that the student was last seen talking to someone on his cellphone. He was seen by his friends at the hostel around 1am, reports TOI.
