Tamil Nadu: DMER floats MBBS application forms

Chennai: Application forms for the MBBS courses are in circulation by the Directorate of Medical Education (DME) since 11th June 2018. Candidates who fill them will be granted admission on the basis of their NEET marks, announced on 4th June 2018.


DME Director Edwin Joe revealed that students could pick the forms up from all government medical colleges or download them online.


The applications will be issued till 18 June (5 pm). The filled-in applications should be submitted on or before 19 June (5 pm).


Elaborate arrangements have been made by the DMER for candidates to collect their application forms. Banks situated in every medical college have special arrangements done to take demand drafts along with application forms.


Students have to submit a DD worth Rs. 500 in name of “ The Secretary, Selection Committee, DME, Kilpauk”. Other seeking private college admissions have to pay Rs 1,000 for the application. SC/ST are to be given the application for free.


According to officials, Candidates are to submit their original community certificate, with a mention of their preference for study - government or private.


85 percent State quota seat admissions are to be conducted by the DME


Candidates filling online application will have been personally present for document verification, in order to be included in the merit list of Tamilnadu MBBS 2018 admission.


 



 

1.20 students registered for NEET in Tamil Nadu. Of these 1,14,602 appeared for the exam. Tamilnadu has 5,660 seats in 45 medical college. There are 61,390 MBBS seats in the 476 medical colleges. Puducherry, too, has a pass percentage of 39.6.
