New Delhi: While the Union Minister of External Affairs, is ailing and awaiting the kidney transplant at AIIMS, she indeed has not stopped working, and coming to the rescue of those who need help. This was clear as she came to the assistance of Geeta Singh, a PhD scholar at AIIMS who was having troubles with getting a visa on time to attend a conference.


External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj assured immediate help to a PhD scholar in AIIMS, where the minister is undergoing treatment for kidney failure.


The student who is due to present a research paper at an international conference at Australia, was facing difficulties as she had not received her visa. She used the medium of twitter to reach out to the minister, to ask for help in the matter.



The student's tweet was met with a prompt reply from the minister, who called her to meet her in person"Geeta - I am also in AIIMS. Pl come and see me here. I will do my best to help you," Swaraj tweeted.




It is reported that within a span of a day, the students request for VISA was met, with the entire twitter going gaga over the minister's gesture
