Super speciality centre to come up at MGM Medical College

Indore: The foundation stone for the proposed super speciality centre on Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Medical College campus was laid on April 19. The stone laid on the vacant land of MGM Medical College, opposite Hotel Rajshahi.


The Rs. 200 crore union government approved project will be set up by Kolkata based construction agency Bridge and Roof said Dr Sharad Thora, Dean of MGM Medical College.


The project has been approved by the union government under the fourth phase of Pradhanmantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana. Of the sanctioned 15 super specialities, 10 will be established in the new building, while five will continue to be developed in the existing building of the hospital, said Dean, Dr. Thora.


The facility, he added would have 13 advanced operation theatres including five modular operation theatres. The union government will be financially supporting 60-80 of the budget for the project, while the rest will find support in the state government, reported FPJ.
