Hyderabad: The MNR Medical College, Sangareddy MBBS students are alleging that the institution is seeking an exorbitant sum for fee, for allowing them to sit for their annual exam. These students added that they were asked to refrain from appearing for the university exams, in February, and instead asked to appear in the subsequent semester, as they were running short of attendance.

The students allege that they have been asked to pay a sum of Rs. 14,000, in place of the Rs. 3000, they are willing to pay as exam fee.

“Not only did they detain us for six months, they are demanding money. We attended the classes and ensured that the requirements were met. Why are we not being allowed to sit for the examination?” queried a student, while speaking to the Deccan Chronicle.

Furthermore, a ban has also been placed on the renewal of MBBS seats of the college, by the Medical Council of India, for the coming year. It is debarred from taking in a fresh batch of students, thought the existing students are being allowed to complete their graduation.

The college, on the other hand, justified that they had only asked them for their examination fee and nothing beyond that.
