Haryana: SKHM Medical College gets govt nod to start DNB courses in 8 specialisations

Chandigarh: Haryana Chief Minister Shri Manohar Lal has recently accorded approval for starting the Diplomate of National Board (DNB) courses in various clinical subjects and pathology at Shaheed Hasan Khan Mewati Government Medical College (SKHM Medical College), Nalhar, in Nuh district.

The Chief Minister, who also holds the portfolio of Finance Minister, has approved an amount of more than Rs 15.48 crore for providing the facility of DNB course to the students of the rural areas so that the people living in the area can get better medical facilities.

Sharing more details about the same, an official Spokesman said that the three-year course will be made available in the specialties namely, ENT, Pediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynecology, General Medicine, General Surgery, Anesthesiology, Radiology and Chest and TB.

The Spokesman said that the Diplomate qualifications awarded by the National Board of Examinations have been equated with the postgraduate and post doctorate degrees awarded by other Indian Universities by the Government of India, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare; vide their notifications issued from time to time. The holders of Board's qualification awarded after an examination (DNB Final) are eligible to be considered for specialists post in any Hospital including training or teaching institution.

Shaheed Hasan Khan Mewati Government Medical College is situated on the outskirts of Nuh in Nalhar in Nuh district of Haryana.It is affiliated to Pt. B.D. Sharma University Of Health Sciences, Rohtak, Haryana, and recognized by the Medical Council of India

Established in August 2012, It admits 120 students for MBBS course every year. SAHEED HASAN KHAN MEWATI Hospital is the affiliated teaching hospital and has about 500 beds equipped with all modern facilities.
