Bengaluru: A police complaint has been lodged against a consultant by a former judge alleging his son having been cheated of Rs. 10.60 Lakh in lieu of a medical seat offered in a Chinese university.

Judge D Kulashekharan hailing from Tamil Nadu has lodged a complaint against the North American Education's Managing Director G Venkat and others at the Madivala police station. He alleged that the consultant had cheated more people in the same fashion.

Since the former Judge Kulashekharan and his late wife wanted their son Jayanth to pursue medicine and medical education in India was expensive they decided to send their child to a foreign university. Mr. Kulashekharan consulted the foreign education service to procure a medical seat in a foreign university.

They were offered a medical seat for their son at the Tianjin Medical University in China by the consultants. the former judge gave them Rs 10.60 lakh for four-and-a-half year's tuition fees, a one-year meal, and housing facility and an airline ticket.

The consultants paid the university a sum of Rs 4.5 lakh initially. However, the fee stopped coming in the 3rd of the course. The college officials asked Jayanth, Kulshekharan's son to pay the tuition fees. The judge tried to get in touch with the consultant but they he did not hear from them.

Kulashekharan then paid Rs 10 lakh to the University by selling his house. Jayanth was able to complete his medical education in 2016 and now he is now a practicing doctor in Chennai.

The firm is believed to have closed its branches in Chennai and Bengaluru a couple of years ago. However, former judge Kulashekharan alleged that the consultants are still in operation from elsewhere.

On December 24, former Judge, Kulashekharan lodged a complaint through a postal letter and the police at Madival registered it, reports TOI.
