SN Medical College to get high tech machinery for cancer treatment
Agra: A simulator and a 3D linear accelerator are to become part of the Department of Radiotherapy at Sarojini Naidu Medical College, Agra by the end of the year.These machines will help in Cancer detection and treatment say college authorities.
“Cancer patients will get quality treatment at SN Medical College and will not have to go to private hospitals. These machines are quite advanced as compared to the existing ones. With the help of these machines, we will be able to detect different kinds of cancer which weren't possible with the old machines. Also, the side effects of the treatment will be a lot lesser,” Dr Anuj Tyagi, Professor, Radiotherapy informed TOI.
“We are expecting these machines to be installed very soon. Patients will no longer have to wait for tests and treatment and will get quality treatment here,” said Dr AK Arya, Head, Radiotherapy.
Dr Saroj Singh, Principal, SN Medical College told TOI “We have been trying to provide modern medical treatment at our hospital so the patients do not have to seek expensive treatment at private medical facilities. We are also in the process of adding more new facilities.”
