SN Medical College to get 250-bed boys hostel, auditorium

Agra: The post graduate students of SN Medical College will soon be given a 250 bed hostel accommodation to facilitate living on campus.


The project which is to cost Rs 17 crore, has already been released Rs 7 crore, for the state government to initiate construction work


The proposed hostel would have a common study hall, a waiting room and single rooms for students. "We have received around Rs 7 crore and are expecting the remaining amount soon. We are waiting for the state cabinet nod to demolish the old building so that work on the new hostel can be initiated. We have already got the local administration's consent," Dr Shailendra Singh, spokesperson at the Principal's office, told TOI.


He also revealed that an auditorium with 500 seating capacity will also be constructed.


The project is expected to cost Rs 9 crore out of which Rs 3 crore has already been received by the authorities. "The auditorium will be fully air-conditioned and will be used to host national and international medical conferences. The construction work will be started soon, " stated Mr. Singh
