Shocking: 7 medical faculty attacked at left out round of NEET counselling

Bhopal: In an embarrassing situation at the left-out-round of NEET counselling for Under Graduate medical courses at LN Medical College, attending students and their parents were seen attacking professors assigned the task of clearing admissions on campus. The physical assault that occurred in the presence of the police saw seven faculty members injured, though not seriously. The assault was an aftermath of the attackers not having been granted admission.


The incident which took place on Sunday was an act by other state aspirants with their parents. The violence occurred because the students who had come with the hope of getting a seat, were informed that the DME had struck down their names from the admission list. The announcement was immediately followed by protests by both the aspirants and their parents, on the college premises.


The police intervened and rounded up a few of the medical aspirants. “The attack allegedly left seven faculty members injured. However, their injuries were not serious,” sources claimed to the Free Press Journal.
