Rs 100 Crore package released by CM for Assam Medical College

Dibrugarh: The overall development of the Assam Medical College and Hospital (AMCH) became the central focus of Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal recent visit to Dibrugarh. AMCH is a premier healthcare facility in the area.


A Rs.100 crore package for infrastructural development of the hospital has also been released by Chief Minister, Sonowal. This money is to be utilized in the construction of a new three-story building housing the modular operation theatre, ICU and blood bank.


The fund is also to be utilized for building a modern morgue, a two or three-storey boys hostel to house 575 borders. The minister is also considering an additional third storey being built in the existing Dr Tosnilal Ladies Hostel. Repair work in the of causality, medicine, surgery paediatric, gynaecology and obstetrics departments is also to be undertaken.


Repair initiatives in the old boys and ladies hostel have also been undertaken under this package. The Chief Minister during his visit also interacted with the students of the college, faculty members and others reported the Sentinel.
