RNT Medical College ragging case posted on SC web portal, draws immediate action
Udaipur: A recent case of ragging at the RNT Medical College was immediately acted upon when parents of the juniors ragged lodged a complaint on the web portal of the Supreme Court and the apex court issued instant orders of action by the college authority.
According to information, a set of juniors at the RNT Medical College who were being ragged by their seniors complained to their parents who went ahead and reported the matter on the web portal of the Supreme Court. The Court in its turn gave instant direction to the college authorities, who took action by suspending the 9 senior students, including 2 girls, for 3 months and also imposing a fine of Rs. 25,000 on each of them.
Dr D.P.Singh, Principal RNT Medical college conceded that junior students did not report the case with them and that they took immediate action on receiving a court directive.
He further said, as ragging incidents were not reported to them, therefore, no action was taken. He urged the students to come forward and report incidents of ragging, so that action could be taken, reports Udaipur Times.com.
