RGUHS student gets 10 gold Medals

Nisha Jain and four other undergraduates from Kempegowda Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS), Bengaluru will be honoured at Rajiv Gandhi university of Health Sciences (RGUHS) on the 18th Annual Convocation which is going to be held on 5th April, 2016.


Nisha Jain will be awarded for the highest marks in surgery, pathology, overall aggregate in finals and first-to-final exams, anatomy (highest for a lady student) among others.


While talking about her aspirations Nisha said, that she always wanted to join Civil services but she choose Medical as her career option as she had interest in Medical too. She will be the first person of her family to be a doctor.


Discussing her schedule Nisha told that "I studied daily for three hours maximum. Besides notes and textbooks, I spent time in the hospital talking to the patients and doing their case studies."


Speaking with the Bangalore Mirror Nisha said, "Since day one of my academic year, I got really involved with my education and loved studying medicine. I never thought I would get 10 gold medals, but I was passionate about my studies. I was really surprised when I got the news."


Other achievers Samatha Honavar (Sri Kalabhyraveshwara Ayurvedic Medical College) who won three gold medals with two cash prizes; and Aishhwarrya Umeshchandara G, (MR Medical College, Gulbarga) and Dr Vidhyasri M, (Sri Kalabhyraveshwara Ayurvedic Medical College) who were awarded four gold medals each.


Proudly talking his daughter's achievements Bramhasurya, Nisha's father said she topped in every exam and never miss her classes. "I am proud of her achievements. She wants to pursue her masters in surgery so she can be an oncology surgeon. I will support her further studies."
