Vishakhapatnam : The Andhra Pradesh Government Doctors Association (APGDA) members met with State Health Minister Dr Kamineni Srinivas on Tuesday, to give him a representation. They were requesting for reduction of qualifying percentage, for entrance to post graduate courses from the present 50% to 35% to 40% for in service doctors.

APGDA state General Secretary, Dr P Shyam Sundar said, "The health minister has responded positively to our request of reducing the qualification marks for postgraduate entrance exams for these in-service doctors. Currently, the pass mark is 50%. We want it to be reduced to 35%-40% for these MBBS in-service doctors because they are already engaged in field works and medical service in interior areas and don't get adequate time for studies. We have also requested the minister to take note of various problems of doctors."
