Rajasthan : New faculty recruitment rules allow rehiring of retired faculty till age of 70

Jaipur: The eight upcoming medical colleges in the state are going to be well staffed in terms of faculty looking at the efforts being put in by the Department of Medical Education. The education body has formulated recruitment rules for employing assistant professors, associate professors and professors for the upcoming eight medical institutions of the state. As per the new rules retired faculty till the age of 70 years would be allowed to be recruited on full pay scales.


According to DME’s new recruitment rules as confirmed by State Health Minister, Rajendra Rathore, the new provisions in oppointment rules include:
• Provisions made for recruitment of retired faculty till age 70 on full pay scales
• Recruitment will be done as per Medical Council of India Rules
• Those with 10 years medical experience to be appointed as Associate Professors
• Those having Completed 18 years of medical practice to be appointed as-Professors

The minister also confirmed that seeing to the urgency of recruitment in the different medical colleges, the medical education department will be recruiting assistant professors who have four years of experience as associate professor on temporary basis.

The Department of Medical Education is taking all possible measures to fill up the posts in the upcoming medical colleges. Officials said that by December, they would fill the posts in the new medical colleges as Medical Council of India would visit all the new medical colleges to review the preparations. The DME is aiming to complete the first phase of setting up new medical colleges by December in accordance to MCI norms.
