Rajasthan Medical College: 100 MBBS students SUSPENDED for playing DJ in hostel, bunking classes

Rajasthan: 100 MBBS students of 2018-batch at Bharatpur Medical College have been suspended for a month for playing music in the campus hostel and bunking classes. The students have also been told to vacate the premises by the medical college administration. According to TOI, the students might get relief from the medical college administration if they furnish an undertaking to not repeat the offence again. It has been reported that the MBBS students were playing loud music and dancing in the hostel on Friday (September 6th) night around 10:50 pm. When some of the faculty members who also reside in the hostel, reached the spot and then asked them to stop the music, an altercation ensued between them and the MBBS students. The students allegedly did not get permission from the medical college administration to bring and play DJs in hostels. Further, on the next day on September 7, all the students of the batch did not attend their classes. Taking the violation seriously, the Principal issued orders to the MBBS students to vacate the hostel immediately after suspending the entire batch for 30 days. The CCTV footages were also checked. , in view of Ganesh Chaturthi in the medical college, Ganesh Mahotsav was to be organized on 12 September. But the event has been cancelled by MBBS Students after playing the DJ on late night and considering the incident. The entire batch of the year 2018 has been suspended for a month for playing DJ in a loud volume in the hostels at midnight and not attending classes the next day. Instructions have also been given to all medicos to vacate the hostel, Dr Rachna Narayan, Principal and Controller, Bharatpur Medical College informed Patrika. The suspension orders may get revoked if they give an undertaking that the offence will not be repeated. “It is a serious offense. We have informed parents and the suspension orders may get revoked if they give an undertaking,” said Dr Narain informed TOI.
