Radiologist Dr Hemant Deshmukh appointed Dean of KEM Hospital

Mumbai: With the retirement of Dr Avinash Supe from the post of dean of King Edward Memorial (KEM) Hospital and Seth Gordhandas Sunderdas Medical College (Seth GS Medical College ), Dr Hemant Deshmukh, the Head of Radiology has been handed over the charge of the deanship. Dr Deshmukh is a Vascular & Interventional Radiologist, Endovascular Specialist.

Dr. Hemant Deshmukh received his medical degree from Mumbai University following completion of MBBS studies at the Seth GS Medical College & King Edward Memorial (KEM) Hospital, Mumbai. He completed a residency in diagnostic radiology at the Seth GS Medical College & KEM Hospital, obtaining the DMRD and MD degrees from the Mumbai University. He was awarded the Diplomate of National Board (DNB) from the National Board of Examinations.

Dr. Deshmukh till now serving as Professor & Head at the Diagnostic Radiology Department at the KEM Hospital. Dr Deshmukh specializes in the treatment of complex Vascular Interventional Procedures, including treatment of Aortic Aneurysms and Limb salvage procedures. He is the author of multiple articles in peer-reviewed medical journals.

He takes charge from Dr Avinash Supe, a surgical gastroenterologist who takes retirement from the post after serving 3 years in KEM Hospital. Besides leading the charge of GS Medical College, Dr Supe was also a consultant with the Medical Council of India for curriculum development and has also co-chaired the department of medical education with Maharashtra University of Health Sciences.
