Chandigarh: The Punjab government restored to 37 days the summer vacation of the faculty of medical and dental colleges in the state.

Medical Education minister Brahm Mohindra said the orders were issued after it was brought to the notice of the government that the summer vacation of the faculty of the medical and dental colleges was reduced from 37 days to 30 days during the previous regime.

"The faculty members apprised me that the academic leave actually is not a leave, rather during these vacations they are bound to serve academic duties as examiners or attending academic conferences," he said.
