Puducherry: Sensitization programme on Corneal Blindness and Organ Donation held

Puducherry: The Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER) in association with NCS Centre, Ministry of Labour and Employment, recently hosted a one day sensitization programme on ‘Corneal Blindness and Organ Donation,’ for anganwadi teachers.

The aim behind the one day programme was to generate awareness about corneal blindness, eye donation, transplantation and organ donation, among grass root level service providers, stated a press release, issued on the occasion.


Dr. Subhash Chandira Parija, Director, JIPMER speaking to the workers laid emphasis on the significance of eye and organ donation.The Keynote address was delivered by Director, Social Welfare, Meena Kumari.
