PGIMER MD,MS result for 2019 January session announced, Check it Out

Chandigarh: Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh announced its MD/MS result for January 2019 session.

PGIMER MD/MS result for January session has been published on the website pgimer.edu.in.

Students are requested to check their results the PDF file attached below.

The approximate number of questions for each subject is as follows: Applied Anatomy - 6, Applied Biochemistry-12, Immunogenetics and Molecular Biology-10, Applied Physiology-6, Pathology - 15, Pharmacology - 12, Microbiology - 12, Forensic Medicine - 6, Social and Preventive Medicine-7, Internal Medicine-36, Paediatrics-12, Dermatology-6, Psychiatry-6, Radiodiagnosis-6, Obstetrics and Gynaecology-20, Radiotherapy - 6, General Surgery-36, Otorhinolaryngology -10, Ophthalmology - 10, and Orthopaedics - 10.

Alternatively, follow the following steps to check the result

  • Go to the official website, pgimer.edu.in

  • On the homepage, click on the link 'RESULT FOR MD/MS COURSES FOR JANUARY-2019 SESSION'

  • Click on the relevant link

  • PDF containing the names of selected candidates along with percentile will be displayed on the screen

  • Download the same and take print out of it for future use





Candidates are required to score a minimum 55 percentile for qualifying the examination. The minimum qualifying percentile for reserved categories is 50 while for Bhutanese nationals is 45 percentile. Counselling, however, would be done on the basis of merit.

Based on the cut off, the regulatory body will release the a total of nine category-wise PGIMER merit list 2019.

TIEBREAKER criteria

Following is the tiebreaker criteria that would be used in case of a tie. If the marks of two or more aspirants will be equal, then conducting authority will follow the inter-se merit/tie-breaking mechanism. First of all, candidates who would have obtained higher aggregate marks in MBBS examination will be considered for better rank in the merit list. However, if the tie still persists, then the age of candidates will be preferred and an aspirant elder in age will be placed higher in the rank list.



PGIMER exam is conducted twice a year in January and July session for admission to Masters of Surgery (MS) and Doctor of Medicine (DM) courses.
