Panic at MGM Medical College after 34 year old MBBS student found dead

Indore: The dead body of an MBBS student of MGM Medical College was discovered outside the gates of Azad Nagar area, leading to a situation of panic here. While the police have stated that the medico died of cardiac arrest, his family members have claimed that their son has been murdered. The medico's name had cropped up in the 2013 VYAPAM scam, claimed some whistleblower taking to social media


A 34-year-old MBBS student died in Indore under mysterious circumstances on Tuesday, police informed media persons here. He was a student of MBBS course in the MGM Medical College, they said.


His family members alleged foulpay. Speaking to mediapersons his, his nephew alleged that the medico had a good personal life and was about to finish his MBBS in 2020. His family was looking for him to get married.

A whistle-blower claimed the name of the deceased, Bhurelal Vaskel, had cropped up in the 2013 admission and recruitment or 'Vyapam' scam. Vaskel, who hails from Khargone district of the state, was staying in a rented accommodation in Ajaybag area of the city.

Police on the other hand, ruled out murder. "Initial postmortem report suggests Vaskel died of a cardiac arrest," said Assistant Sub-Inspector Vikram Singh.

However, police did not confirm Chaturvedi's claim. "I do not have any information yet on whether Vaskel was involved in the Vyapam scam," Singh said. Another police officer also echoed Singh when asked about Chaturvedi's claim.


A two doctors team from MY Hospital are going to perform the post-mortem and submit report to the police

The admission and recruitment scam, allegedly involving racketeers, government officials and some politicians, was unearthed in the year 2013.
