One time increase in Broad speciality medical seats: MCI invites applications

New Delhi: Through a recent letter to all the government medical colleges offering PG courses in the country, the Medical Council of India has conveyed that the central government has decided to grant one time increase in seats in Clinical Courses ( Broad Speciality) under the revised student teacher ratio in government medical colleges ( already running clinical courses ( Broad Speciality )) for the academic year 2018-19

The letter, signed by secretary Reema Nayyar, offers the colleges to apply for the scheme requesting them to supply detailed information in a prescribed pro forma. The last date of application for the same is 19th January, 2018, 5 pm. The colleges have been directed to provide the application in person ( Dean or authorised representative ) in the MCI office. The council also specified that incomplete proposals will not be entertained.

Following information has been asked by the council.

  1. Number of Faculty Members ( Professor, Associate Professor, Assis Prof, and Senior Residents ) working in the broad speciality department, clinical material and infrastructure available in the department .

  2. The information should be provided in the prescribed Proforma giving all the details about the number of units, beds, specialised equipments, faculty available and broad speciality seats already running. The information must be accompanied by the declaration forms ( duly filled and signed by concerned faculty and dean) giving all experience details of working in Broad-Speciality department ( in different ranks), their appointment/promotion order and joining reports, reprints of their research publications ( in which they are first or second author only) published in indexed journals of their Broad Speciality, and list of available specialised equipment in the department.
