Oldest Medical College in Kerala to host MedEx2017

Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala's oldest Medical College is hosting an artistic Healthcare education expo "MedEx 2017," in an expanse of 2 lac square feet on the occasion of completing 65 years in healthcare services.


Organized by the Kerala University of Health Sciences, the exhibition is to be inaugurated by Chief Minister,Pinarayi Vijayan, at the medical college premises at 9.30 am on 3rd January,2017


The themes of the exhibition would incorporate 'cutting edge of medicine' and 'mirroring human.'


A promised visual delight for visitors, the exhibition would have on display specimens of human body, sonological and microscopic views, disease patterns, and art installations. Exhibiting over 1000 exhibits, the exposition is meant to be a travelogue from the basic molecular cell to the most complex molecular brain.


The forensic science pavilion which will duplicate investigation methods of the Soumya murder case is to be one of the major attractions of the exhibition.


"People can walk inside the makeshift train and watch specimens and demonstrations which will explain how a crime is investigated and how forensic department helps in the process of investigation," said Dr Ajith Kumar, the Technical and Aesthetic Director, Exhibition.


Approximately, 120 animations and original videos on normal delivery, caesarean delivery, bypass surgery, appendicitis, angiogram, etc. will be on display at the exhibition.


Open to the public between 9:30 am to 11:00 pm, till January 31,entry to the expo will be restricted with tickets available at exhibition counters or online purchases at www.sbtonline.in
