Nipah Virus: Kozhikode Medical College to set up permanent isolation ward
The Kerala government will set up a permanent isolation ward at Kozhikode Medical College in the wake of the outbreak of deadly Nipah Virus (NiV) that claimed 14 lives in the region recently.
Talking to reporters after a high-level review meets, Health Minister K K Shylaja said though the deceased was well under control, the isolation ward would be launched as a precautionary measure.
She said the health department was well prepared to adopt remedial measures in the event of relapse of the deceased.
