Neonatal Nursing workshop held at Jipmer

Puducherry: Considering the fact that the effectiveness of essential maternal and newborn care interventions such as delivery, hygienic cord care, thermal care and breastfeeding has been estimated to decrease neonatal deaths, due to serious infections by 20-50 per cent, the Department of Neonatology, JIPMER in coordination with Department of Nursing has conducted the second edition of Neonatal Nursing workshop here early this week.

According to a Jipmer release here on Thursday, around 72 nurses from various Government hospitals in Pondicherry, Cuddalore, Villupuram and Dharmapuri participated in this workshop and received hands-on training in essential newborn care and common neonatal procedures.
