Kerala : Dr Shabnam gains top position in NEET PG 2017

The National Board of Examination released the NEET PG 2017 exam results on January 15. Candidates who sat for the exam may check the result on the official website-nbe.gov.in Dr. Shabnam has gained the first rank in the first All India NEET PG entrance examination reports Indian Express.


Dr Shabnam, hailing from Kerala is the daughter of advocate K A Zafeer and Nazeera of Peroorkada in the capital city. She shared her joy from Pondicherry,where she is doing her PG in General Medicine at JIPMER, one among the top medical institutes in the country.She joined the college just a week ago obtaining the 19th position in JIPMER's entrance. Despite having secured the first position she is interested in continuing her studies at JIPMER .


An MBBS degree holder from Thiruvananthapuram Medical College, Shabnam bagged the 397th rank in the state medical entrance exam at the first go.Shabnam said that she studied 12 hours a day to be where she is today.


The National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test for post graduate courses was held on December 13 (apart from some centres in Chennai). NEET PG is an all India level single window entrance/eligibility exam for MD/MS/PG diploma courses.


Those who have cleared the exam will be eligible for admissions in approximately 350 medical colleges (both Govt and private) of the country except the following: AIIMS/ PGIMER/ SGPGIMS/ NIMHAMS/ SCTIMS. This exam also includes DNB broad specialty courses
