New Delhi: Unresolved salary issues has lead radiographers at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences(AIIMS) threaten a strike.

The radiographers have not been given a raise for the past eight years. On Wednesday, they expressed their discontent over the issue, in the form of a protest march led by them during lunch hours.

While they went back to work after this protest march, they made it clear to the authorities that if the salary issues were not resolved they would go on a strike soon.

“There are over 260 radiographers who are unhappy over the matter and if the matter is not going to be resolved, we will soon be holding a strike,” a protester informed Millennium post.

The protesting radiographers said that the march was a reflection of their anger. Though most have been shifted to the technical branch, the pay hike is still to come, the protesters revealed.

“The radiographers play an important role in conducting MRI’s and other surgical processes. The authorities realized our importance and gave us promotions,” the protester, further added.

“ Even though the authorities have repeatedly added that our salaries will also increase accordingly, the matter has been deferred for eight years,” he stated.
