M Venkaiah Naidu to address first convocation of AIIMS Bhubaneswar on Aug 16

Bhubaneswar: Vice-President M Venkaiah Naidu is arriving here on August 16 on a day's visit to attend the first convocation of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Bhubaneswar.


A meeting ahead of the Vice-President's visit was held under the chairmanship of Home Secretary Asit Tripathy at the State Secretariat here today to make all arrangements for the visit.


As per schedule, Mr Naidu will arrive at the Biju Patnaik International Airport at 0800 AM on August 16 by Special IAF Aircraft. Soon after his arrival he will be given a guard of honour.


'From the Airport he will go to the AIIMS campus by road amid tight security,' the Home Secretary said after the meeting.


After the function the Vice-President will leave Bhubaneswar for Begumpet Airport at 1220 hrs.
